Job summary

FM Global in Parsippany, NJ, seeks a Finance Business Partner to act as a trusted advisor on the division's financial performance. You will lead budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting, delivering insights and what-if analyses to guide business decisions.

Collaborating with FP&A leadership and cross‑functional partners, you will mentor analysts and drive strategic finance initiatives within a global insurance context. This is an on-site, full-time role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years of related work experience; finance at an insurance company preferred.
• CPA/ACA/ACCA certification preferred.
• Strong strategic, execution, and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning, budgeting, and forecasting across a division.
• Develop the annual plan, budgets, and forecasts for a division with FP&A support.
• Oversee monthly management reporting and analysis for the function.
• Provide transparent updates and actionable financial insights to leadership.
• Collaborate with Sr Finance Partners and FP&A Head on analyses.
• Explain key PBF assumptions and drivers to business leaders.
• Build business cases and what-if analyses for decision making.
• Engage stakeholders to monitor market changes and implications.

Summary

The Finance Business Partner (FBP) will act as a trusted advisor on the financial performance of a Division or Staff functions in areas related to the future state financial performance including budgeting, financial insights on market conditions, alternative business scenarios and improving the quality of internal and external financial data to drive business decision making and performance. Provides a broad scale, expert consultation, direction, and guidance to both functional and regional leadership to elevate business performance.

Location & Schedule

This position is office-based in Parsippany, NJ and follows a full-time schedule Monday through Friday. Start and stop times are flexible with core business days on-site Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Occasional domestic travel is required based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end planning, budgeting, and forecasting process across a division/staff function, including all inputs and drivers within the planning tool.
• Develop the annual plan, associated budgets, and forecasts for a division/staff function, supported by an FP&A analyst pool.
• Understand and oversee the financial performance of a division/staff function to support Head of FP&A's strategic priorities.
• Own monthly management reporting and analysis process for a division/staff function.
• Proactively provide transparent and frequent financial updates and actionable insights for assigned division/staff function.
• Engage Sr Finance Business Partners and FP&A Head to ensure timely and accurate delivery of analysis and insights.
• Ensure business leaders understand key PBF assumptions and drivers.
• Build business cases, including what-if analyses.
• Engage key internal stakeholders, including other Finance Business Partners and division/staff function counterparts, to keep abreast of changes in market landscape and advise on potential implications to the business.
• Support ad hoc analysis, as required.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree with a focus in accounting or combination of equivalent work experience. Master’s degree preferred. Professional certification e.g. CPA, ACA, ACCA.
• Work Experience: 10+ years of related work experience is required. Finance experience at an insurance company; strategy and/or consulting role. Global work experience is highly preferred.
• Skills: Strong strategic and execution capabilities; strong judgement and decisiveness; broad and deep knowledge of finance, business, and regulatory environment; excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; ability to build trust through advocacy for division or staff function leadership team priorities; ability to mentor FP&A analysts to enable growth toward FBP role; strong accounting/finance skills; ability to work independently; good team leadership skills and results orientation; ability to motivate others in a deadline‑driven environment and foster acceptance of change; proficiency with financial systems and standard software applications.
