BCG Attorney Search is assisting a law firm in Minneapolis, MN to hire a Finance Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience in commercial financing transactions.

The successful candidate will represent institutional lenders in secured finance, draft and negotiate loan documents, and work with partners to advance deals from term sheet to closing. A JD and Minnesota license (or waiver) are required.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active Minnesota license or ability to waive in.
• 3–5 years of substantive commercial finance experience.
• Experience with secured finance transactions preferred.

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly motivated Finance Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience in commercial financing transactions to join their Minneapolis, MN office. The successful candidate will work with a dynamic lender base, including private equity credit funds, hedge funds, and traditional banks, advising on complex deals from term sheet through closing.

Duties

• Represent institutional lenders in secured finance transactions, including asset-based lending and real estate finance.
• Serve as day-to-day deal counsel, managing transaction workstreams and driving deals to closing.
• Draft and negotiate credit agreements and related loan documentation.
• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on deal strategy and client relationships.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of substantive commercial finance experience.
• Experience with secured finance transactions; familiarity with private equity or hedge fund clients is a plus.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage transactions independently.
• Active law license in Minnesota or ability to waive in.

Education

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications
