Job description

Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and collaborative Finance Associate to help drive the growth of our organization through strategic mergers and acquisitions (M&A), also known as Partner Development. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned finance or M&A professional who wants to make a significant impact on a rapidly growing company.

You will lead and support key aspects of the partner development process, including target valuations, synergy underwriting, financial due diligence and internal performance reporting. This role works closely with the company’s CFO, chief of staff and M&A principals.

This is a remote role, and the successful candidate may be based anywhere on the East Coast.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze target financial statements, operational data, confidential information memorandums (CIMs) and other qualitative inputs to build valuation models.
  • Inform recommendations to company leadership and the board on optimal deal structures for acquisition targets.
  • Participate in management meetings and financial due diligence calls with prospective sellers and investment bankers to identify deal risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with third-party advisors and consultants to complete quality of earnings reports, evaluate seller financials and identify potential revenue or cost synergies.
  • Coordinate pre-letter of intent (LOI) and confirmatory diligence workflows with finance, legal and deal team leaders to support an efficient path to close.
  • Lead select post-merger integration processes to track acquisition performance and realize identified synergies.
  • Maintain internal reporting packages used by company leadership and the board to evaluate performance and inform strategic decisions.
  • Improve data quality and support better decision-making by analyzing past transactions, pipeline activity, operational metrics and market feedback.
  • Conduct market research and assess industry trends to enhance the company’s partner development strategy and operating model.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Two to four years of experience in investment banking, private equity or corporate finance, with direct M&A exposure preferred.
  • Experience in financial services and familiarity with the independent RIA landscape or other acquisitive businesses is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting and valuation principles, including drivers of relative and intrinsic valuation.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct thorough due diligence and financial modeling.
  • Collaborative, tactful and able to perform well under pressure.
  • Proactive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
