Job summary

Northbound Executive Search is seeking a Finance Associate for a private equity platform in New York City. The hybrid role spans FP&A, accounting, and valuations, with direct exposure to the Controller, CFO, and deal team.

Suitable for someone 2–5 years into their career seeking a cross-functional view of how a PE platform operates. The candidate should have 2–5 years in public accounting, FP&A, or valuations; CPA track preferred but not required; strong Excel and modeling skills are essential;

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in public accounting, FP&A, valuations, or a combination thereof.
• CPA or CPA track preferred but not required.
• Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Exposure to private equity, alternative assets, or a private company environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the quarterly close and financial reporting process for the management company and fund entities.
• Build and maintain FP&A models covering management company budgeting, headcount planning, and expense forecasting.
• Assist with the quarterly valuation process including data gathering, model review, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare materials for LP reporting, board meetings, and internal management reviews.
• Partner with the deal team on portfolio company financial analysis and ad hoc projects.
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in reporting, systems, and processes.

Compensation includes base, bonus, and a clear path for growth as the platform expands, targeting 150-200k total compensation. Hybrid schedule.
