Job summary

Our client, an early-stage life sciences company, seeks a finance professional to own core financial processes and help build the finance infrastructure. You’ll work directly with leadership to drive month-end close, forecasting, and investor materials in a fast-paced biotech setting.

You’ll develop models, accompany strategic decisions with scenario analyses, and support fundraising efforts as the company scales.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in finance operations, accounting, FP&A, or related finance function.
• Build financial models from scratch, not just maintain templates.
• End-to-end ownership of month-end close, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets.
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial analysis.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and autonomous.
• Excellent communication skills for executive audiences.
• Experience in a fast-moving startup or biotech environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close and financial reporting process, including reconciliations.
• Build financial models from scratch: production cost, unit economics, margin, runway, profitability.
• Develop forecasts and scenario analyses to support strategic decisions.
• Prepare board packages, investor updates, and fundraising materials.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable and coordinate with outsourced bookkeeping.
• Support additional operations finance initiatives as the business grows.
