The Finance and Operations Generalist supports the effective operation of Madison House through financial administration, office management, facilities coordination, and organizational support. This position oversees financial processes across UVA, the UVA Fund, and the Madison House nonprofit entity; manages office and building operations; and helps ensure the systems, resources, and infrastructure necessary to support staff, student leaders, volunteers, and community partners.
During the initial phase of Madison House's partnership with the University of Virginia, the position will also support the financial operations of the Madison House nonprofit entity, including bookkeeping, payroll administration, financial reporting, and compliance activities. Training and oversight will be provided during this transition period. The long‑term goal is to transition these functions to the University of Virginia in a phased approach over approximately two years, ultimately aligning financial operations under UVA's support model.
The Finance and Operations Generalist reports to the Executive Director and collaborates closely with the full Madison House team and the UVA Provost Office Finance Team in finance related responsibilities.
This is primarily a sedentary job involving use of a computer. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
$64,000 - $74,000 commensurate with education and experience.
This is an exempt‑level, benefited position. This is a restricted position, which is dependent on funding and is contingent upon funding availability.
As a student‑facing center, work will take place primarily in‑person at Madison House, On‑Grounds at UVA, and in the surrounding Charlottesville community. As a result, the employee will need to reside in the greater Charlottesville area. Hybrid flexibility may be available, generally allowing up to one remote workday per week, depending on organizational priorities and operational needs.
Occasional evenings and weekends required for events or board meetings. Flexible schedule leading up to or following these requirements.
