Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Finance Internship in our Columbia, MO facility. This part-time, on-site role for the 2027 Spring Semester offers potential extension through the summer.

No visa sponsorship or relocation assistance will be provided. As a Finance intern, you will assist in financial reporting, budgeting, administration, and cross-functional business partnerships, while developing skills in Excel, forecasting, and financial analysis.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Able to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing financial reports, forecasts, and budget analyses.
• Support monthly and quarterly financial close activities.
• Analyze financial data and identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Assist in developing presentations and reporting materials for management.
• Support budget planning and tracking processes.
• Assist in monitoring departmental spending and cost performance.
• Help maintain financial models and forecasting tools.
• Participate in cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain financial records and ensure data accuracy.
• Assist with invoice processing, purchase orders, and account reconciliations.
• Support the preparation of financial documentation and audits.
• Help maintain financial systems and databases under supervision.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
• Assist with special projects related to operational and financial performance.
• Participate in meetings to gain exposure to business planning and decision-making processes.
• Provide analytical support for key business initiatives.
