Job summary

Blue Shield of California offers a Finance Intern role within the Actuarial, Underwriting and Financial Analytics team. You will gain a deep understanding of healthcare finance practices and contribute models and exhibits to improve efficiency.

Hybrid work requires in-office presence two days weekly, with geographic flexibility based on distance from offices. The program emphasizes leadership development, collaboration across finance functions, and hands-on experience through real projects.

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or Actuarial Science.
Robust analytical skill-set; Microsoft Excel proficiency is required.
Financial acumen with ability to synthesize data into insights and reporting.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills.
Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Participate in impactful projects during a 10-week internship program.
Undertake a 10-week curriculum designed to familiarize interns with BSC, leadership development, exposure to the healthcare industry, and more.
Be invited to participate in BSC employee events and networking opportunities.
