Job summary

University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking an Associate Finance Analyst in Institutional Finance: Student Financial Accounting. You will perform accounting and student financial services tasks, including manual and quarterly reconciliations for grants and loans and manage ledger activities for receivables and tuition.

The role involves customer contact via phone, email, and in person, supporting the Assistant Director and Student Accounting Manager on special projects.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting. This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have advanced knowledge and competencies.
• Work Experience: Three (3) years of relevant work experience. Experience analyzing/tracking reports.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the manual bank reconciliation.
• Prepare quarterly reconciliation of federal and state grants.
• Prepare a quarterly reconciliation of federal loans.
• Assist with state loan management.
• Prepare general ledger reconciliations related to student and third-party receivables and tuition.
• Process monthly ECSI loan refunds.
• Add and remove loan holds in Enroll & Pay, as necessary.
• Assist with Perkins loan assignments on an annual basis.
• Answer in person, phone, and email questions from students with billing questions.
• Support Assistant Director of Accounting and Finance and Student Accounting Manager with special projects and other requests as needed.
