The Opportunity
We’re seeking a Finance Analyst to play a vital role in analyzing financial data and providing insights to support business decisions, financial planning, and strategy development. This analytical work aids in optimizing financial performance, identifying investment opportunities, and managing financial risks.
Responsibilities
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Conducting detailed analyses of financial data to identify trends, assess financial health, and provide actionable insights. This includes preparing periodic reports on financial performance, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting in the budgeting process by analyzing past financial performance and forecasting future financial trends. This helps in setting budgetary goals and expectations for revenue and expenses.
- Variance Analysis: Comparing actual financial performance against budgeted forecasts and analyzing variances to understand deviations. This involves identifying the reasons behind the differences and suggesting corrective actions.
- Invoice Processing, Billing and Accounts Payable Management: Processing incoming and outgoing invoices and following auditable procedures to ensure timely A/R functions.
- Cost Analysis and Management: Analyzing cost structures and identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. This may involve conducting cost-benefit analyses for various projects or initiatives.
- Performance Metrics and KPIs: Developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to financial and operational performance. This helps in measuring progress towards financial goals and objectives.
- Financial Planning and Strategy Support: Supporting strategic planning efforts by providing financial analyses and models that inform decision-making. This includes scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and strategic financial planning.
- Compliance and Regulatory Reporting: Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards. This may involve preparing reports for regulatory bodies and ensuring that financial practices adhere to legal and regulatory requirements. Support third-party and internal audits as required by the board and other applicable legal and regulatory compliance. Assist Finance team in researching and preparing information for audits.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicating financial findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including preparing presentations and reports for management, investors, and external partners.
- Continuous Learning and Improvement: Staying updated on industry trends, financial regulations, and best practices in financial analysis. Finance Analysts continuously seek to improve their analytical skills and financial knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, planning, or related roles.
- Knowledge of AP/AR, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and financial reporting tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with financial forecasting platforms and advanced analytics.
- Knowledge of project finance or capital-intensive industries.
- Experience in clean energy, chemicals, engineering, or construction sectors.
- Exposure to international finance operations, including multi-currency management.
- Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or CMA.
