Job description

When AI gets the details wrong in your field, real people pay for it. The people who know the work best have to be the ones training these models. You’re not being replaced by AI. You’re making sure it’s used accurately and safely.

Responsibilities:
  • Design challenging, realistic finance tasks based on professional workflows, including scenarios, prompts, and self-authored supporting files such as financial statements, models, data extracts, term sheets, investment committee materials, and correspondence.
  • Run finance tasks through frontier AI models and evaluate the resulting models, memos, analyses, or decks against professional standards.
  • Compare AI model outputs using identical prompts and files, determine which response performs better, and document strengths and shortcomings.
  • Write detailed grading rubrics defining the assumptions, calculations, risks, conclusions, and recommendations required in a correct deliverable.
  • Identify and document concrete failures, including broken model logic, unsupported assumptions, misread financials, fabricated or ignored source files, scaling errors, missed risks, and off-brief interpretations.
  • Contribute expertise across valuation and modeling, credit, FP&A, markets, treasury, and risk, and review or refine tasks created by other experts.
  • Propose, build, and test finance task scenarios based on professional experience, incorporating reviewer feedback and revisions.
  • Complete paid onboarding, training, and ongoing project work after successfully passing the assessment and task-review stages.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in corporate or investment finance preferred; candidates with less experience may be considered when their practical work is substantial.
  • In-progress bachelor's degree or higher in finance, economics, business, or a quantitative field.
  • Practical depth in at least one area: equity or fixed-income research; portfolio management or trading; corporate finance and FP&A; credit analysis and underwriting; investment banking, M&A, or corporate development; treasury and liquidity; market, credit, or liquidity risk; wealth management; insurance, actuarial, or underwriting.
  • Working understanding of adjacent finance workflows and the ability to evaluate work outside of a primary specialization.
  • Practitioner-level ability to build and audit financial models, such as three-statement, DCF, comparable-company, credit, or budget models.
  • Current or recent individual-contributor experience performing finance work directly; purely managerial experience is not sufficient.
  • Ability to use real-world professional experience to create scenarios that test whether AI can accurately perform finance work.
  • Full professional or native-level written and spoken English, with the ability to explain complex reasoning clearly and articulate why an output is incorrect.
  • Strong attention to detail, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to verify claims against underlying numbers, sources, and facts.
  • Ability to interpret feedback independently, determine which feedback is valid, and apply it without extensive guidance.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar workflows from written materials and incomplete instructions.
  • General familiarity with AI and LLM tools, including the ability to distinguish sound reasoning from plausible but inaccurate responses.
  • Comfort with cloud file tools, browser profiles, desktop-app installation, and everyday file handling such as converting Excel and Google Sheets files or creating ZIP files.
  • Availability for at least 10 hours per week.
  • Based in the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom.
  • CFA, CPA, FRM, and securities licenses are welcome but not required.
Benefits:
  • Pay of $40 to $125 USD per hour, paid through PayPal on a regular cadence.
  • Fully remote contract work with flexible scheduling and no weekly maximum hours.
  • Minimum commitment of 10 hours per week, with full-time hours available.
  • Multi-day task timers that allow work to be completed across several days.
  • Project-provided access to Claude and ChatGPT; no personal subscription is required.
  • Regular paid projects in relevant finance domains after successful onboarding.
  • Training materials, platform instructions, dedicated Slack support, office hours, and expert-review feedback.
  • Opportunity to help evaluate and improve frontier AI systems using real finance expertise.
