Job description

Associate Director of Finance & Administration

I. TITLE: Finance & Administrative Associate

DEPARTMENT: Finance & Administration

GRADE: Full Time

SALARY RANGE: $47,000 - $50,000

FLSA: Non-Exempt

II. POSITION SUMMARY: The primary objective of this position is to assist with the financial and administrative functions of the organization.

III. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. All work is performed with a direct reflection of the mission and values of the organization
  2. Accounts Receivable
    1. Record all sources of revenue into General Ledger
    2. Deposit cash and checks to the bank
  3. Accounts Payable
    1. Track invoices for correct account coding for General Ledger
    2. Prepare and execute weekly check runs
  4. Account Reconciliation
    1. Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
  5. Financial Reporting & Budgeting
    1. Prepare monthly cash flow reports
    2. Assist preparation of monthly financial statements
    3. Attend Board Finance Committee Meetings
    4. Assist with annual budget preparation
    5. Prepare reports and materials for annual audit
    6. Calculate and submit payroll
    7. Other duties as assigned

IV. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Assist at all Ballet Austin functions, events, performances. Requires some evening and weekend participation.

V. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field
  2. Accounting experience or educational equivalent
  3. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
  4. Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
  5. Preferred qualifications
    1. Working knowledge of QuickBooks or comparable accounting software
