Job summary

The Marcus Institute for Brain Health (MIBH) at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus seeks a Director of Finance and Administration to guide financial strategy and operations. The DFA will oversee budgeting, revenue cycle, and reporting across philanthropic, clinical, and grant funding to support mission-driven care and research.

Located onsite in Aurora, CO, this role partners with executive leadership and university partners to expand earned revenue, strengthen internal controls,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or healthcare administration from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in finance and administration.
• Experience managing complex budgets with multiple funding streams, including clinical, philanthropy and grant funding.
• Experience overseeing financial and human resource operations.
• An advanced degree may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis if the degree is in a field directly related to the work assignment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a multi-year financial strategy to sustain long-term fiscal health.
• Diversify funding with philanthropy, clinical revenue, grants, and institutional support.
• Advise leadership on financial planning, risk management, and growth opportunities.
• Lead revenue cycle optimization, including billing, coding, and reimbursements.
• Oversee clinical program budgets, contracts, and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with University, state, federal, and sponsor requirements.
• Collaborate with CU Medicine, CU Foundation, and hospital partners on financial initiatives.
