Job summary

McCall-Thomas Engineering Company, Inc. in Orangeburg, SC is seeking a full-time Director of Finance & Administration to lead the finance and administrative functions. The role oversees budgeting, accounting, payroll, reporting, and internal controls, partnering with leadership to optimize performance.

The candidate will supervise staff, coordinate audits, manage AR/AP, and ensure regulatory compliance, with daily office presence in Orangeburg and occasional travel as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or BusinessAdministration; CPA designation strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 5–7 years managerial experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a service or construction industry.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications and accounting software; experience using BQE CORE is a plus.
• Work at McT Corporate office in Orangeburg, SC daily; travel to external meetings, project sites as required; potential after-hours work.
• Eligibility to work in the US with no sponsorship requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise finance and administration staff and coordinate activities.
• Manage daily accounting department operations and payroll accuracy.
• Implement and execute a QC program to catch mistakes before submission.
• Monitor budget variances and advise on cost control measures.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and collaborate with other departments to improve performance.
• Prepare and review financial reports, statements, and budgets for leadership and the Board.
• Oversee AR, AP, and payroll QC processes.
• Coordinate audits and liaison with the accounting firm.
• Manage HR and administration department duties and staff development.
• Perform other duties as necessary.
