Job summary

Save-A-Lot stores in Boardman Township, Ohio is seeking a detail-oriented bookkeeper to maintain financial records, post transactions, reconcile accounts and prepare routine reports for management.

You will transfer data from paper to digital systems, manage vendor information, and use Microsoft Office, Excel and QuickBooks to track expenses, revenues and cash flow. Strong data entry, reading/writing, and organizational skills are essential; occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Keeps records of financial transactions and posts details to journals or computer files from documents such as sales slips, invoices, receipts, and stubs.
• Transfer data from hard copy to a digital database and create spreadsheets to track vendor information and orders.
• Reconciles and balances accounts and may compile reports such as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable/receivable, and profit and loss.
• Update various data including financial transactions and inventory; organize existing data in spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Answer, screen and route telephone calls.
• Extend invoices and verify totals in cost and retail extensions.
• Maintain accurate monthly company records and reports on time.
• Possess good interpersonal skills and leadership ability.
• Normally works a maximum 6 to 8 hour day.
• Travel to and from work.

• Add subtract multiply and divide.
• Operate intercoms, phones, and adding machines.
