Job summary

CU Boulder is seeking a Finance & Accounting Professional to manage fiscal operations for the VCAA Financial Service Center. The role covers accounting, expense reporting, procurement support, and year-end processes, ensuring compliance with university policies across units.

The position emphasizes discretion, analytical skills, and accountability while supporting the Provost's Office and the Division of Academic Affairs in delivering accurate, timely financial services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, natural/social sciences or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• One year of technical accounting experience.
• A combination of education and/or accounting/finance experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Creates expense journal entries, budget journal entries and cash transfers for VCAA FSC units.
• Reviews monthly financials and prepares month-end close journal entries for assigned units.
• Monitors POs, SPOs, procurement cards and reimbursements to ensure timely close.
• Develops and maintains internal procedure documents for financial processes.
• Educates VCAA FSC unit members on new workflows and process changes.
• Trains and mentors new VCAA FSC staff as needed.
