We're looking for a Finance & Accounting Specialist to support accounting and financial operations across our portfolio of businesses. This hands-on role combines bookkeeping, monthly close, reporting, US business tax preparation, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. You will keep our financial information accurate and help us stay ahead of invoices, payments, and deadlines.
This role sits within the Portfolio team and supports multiple businesses. You should be comfortable personally preparing reconciliations, accounting entries, tax workpapers, and calculations, while working with external CPAs on review, filings, and specialized matters. Experience working remotely with US accounting or tax firms is especially valuable.
What you'll do:
- Own day-to-day bookkeeping and the monthly close in QuickBooks Online, including bank and credit card reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and supporting schedules.
- Manage accounts receivable: prepare and send client invoices in QuickBooks, track outstanding balances, follow up on overdue payments, and reconcile collections.
- Manage accounts payable, including vendor bills and recurring contractor payments: review supporting documentation, prepare payments for approval, track due dates, follow up on outstanding items, and reconcile completed payments.
- Manage Ramp expense and card workflows, including reviewing transactions, collecting supporting documentation, coding expenses, and reconciling activity with QuickBooks.
- Prepare accurate financial statements and practical reporting on revenue, expenses, profitability, receivables, payables, and cash flow.
- Maintain visibility by business, brand, and legal entity; reconcile intercompany balances where applicable and allocate shared Portfolio costs consistently.
- Prepare US business tax workpapers, book-to-tax reconciliations, estimated tax calculations, and draft return schedules for CPA review, based on each entity’s tax classification.
- Own the tax calendar and payment workflow: confirm requirements, prepare supporting calculations, secure reviews and approvals, track payments, and reconcile balances.
- Work with external CPAs on federal and applicable state filings, year-end tax preparation, information reporting, and tax notices or requests.
- Partner with Operations to keep billing and payment information accurate, resolve discrepancies, and improve accounting processes and controls.
What we're looking for:
- 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience supporting US businesses, including bookkeeping, monthly close, and US business tax preparation.
- Direct experience preparing US business tax returns or substantial return schedules and supporting workpapers under CPA review. You can explain the entity types, forms, calculations, and preparation work you personally handled.
- Practical knowledge of US federal business taxation and relevant state obligations, including entity classification, book-to-tax differences, estimated taxes, and filing and payment deadlines.
- Advanced QuickBooks Online skills and hands-on experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, payment tracking, and reconciliations.
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and accrual accounting.
- Experience managing accounting across multiple entities, clients, or business units, including cost allocations and reconciliations.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including account reconciliations, financial analysis, and cash flow forecasting.
- Advanced professional English and experience communicating directly with US stakeholders in a remote environment.
- Strong attention to detail, ownership, discretion, and the judgment to resolve routine issues independently and elevate specialized questions.
- Availability to work full-time from Latin America with overlap during US business hours.
Especially valuable:
experience with a US accounting or tax firm; an accounting degree or relevant certification; familiarity with US tax preparation software, Ramp, Bill.com, or Gusto; and experience with professional services, sponsorships, or events.
What we offer:
- A full-time, fully remote role open to candidates across Latin America.
- A central role supporting multiple businesses and working closely with Portfolio leadership.
- The opportunity to build consistent accounting processes and see the direct impact of your work.
- Collaboration with an international team and external US accounting and tax professionals.
Why this role:
This is an opportunity to take real ownership of accounting and finance operations across a growing Portfolio. If you enjoy working directly in the books, managing billing and payments, preparing tax work, solving discrepancies, and turning financial data into useful information, your work will be central to how our businesses operate and make decisions.
