Job summary

Flexsteel Industries, Inc. is seeking a driven Finance & Accounting Intern to gain hands-on experience across the financial close process, reporting, and cost accounting while supporting day-to-day operations and learning from finance leadership.

You will use Excel and PowerPoint, with exposure to SAP, participate in forecasting, reconciliations, and audits, and build cross-functional collaboration and professional visibility.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and/or Accounting (must be completed with second year).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint.
• General understanding of accounting and ability to read Financial Statements.

Responsibilities

• Gain understanding of the financial close process and support the team.
• Prepare and analyze complex reports using Excel, Analyst and SAP.
• Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations.
• Participate in the preparation and compilation of financial forecasts.
• Provide support and maintain multiple cost accounting deliverables.
• Complete accounting and finance projects as assigned by supervisor.
• Support internal Sarbanes-Oxley audit and annual external audit.
• All other duties as assigned.

Flexsteel Industries, Inc. is looking for a driven, self-motivated and curious candidate to join the team as a Finance & Accounting Intern. In this role you will have the opportunity to assist with a variety of assignments in the areas of Finance and Accounting. This will include but not be limited to analyzing data, supporting the financial close process, preparing and reviewing financial reports and gaining an understanding of how Accounting and Finance interact with and support the operations of the day-to-day business. While having visibility of the Finance and Accounting leadership as you develop your skills.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Gain an understanding of the financial close process and support the team in multiple capacities.
• Learn to prepare and analyze complex reports, utilizing reporting tools such as excel, analyst and SAP.
• Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations.
• Participate in the preparation and compilation of financial forecasts.
• Provide support and maintain multiple cost accounting deliverables.
• Complete accounting and finance projects, as assigned by supervisor.
• Supporting the internal Sarbanes-Oxley audit and annual external audit.
• All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and/or Accounting (must be completed with second year).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in suit of Microsoft office applications including but not limited to Excel and PowerPoint.
• General Accounting understanding and ability to read Financial Statements.
