Job summary

Talbert, Bright & Ellington, LLC (TBE) in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced Director of Finance & Accounting to lead the finance team and partner with Executive leadership. The role focuses on GAAP compliance, financial planning, reporting, and strategic guidance across projects.

The ideal candidate will manage a 3–10 person finance team, align with project managers, and drive growth and profitability while integrating acquisitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field; MBA/CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years in financial operations; at least 3 years in a Controller role.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience leading a high‑performing finance team and improving processes.
• Familiarity with fixed‑price/lumpsum and T&M contracts; ASC 606 helpful.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day accounting operations and set strategic direction.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial planning.
• Maintain internal controls to ensure GAAP compliance.
• Prepare financial statements and reports for management and auditors.
• Collaborate with President and leaders to guide financial strategy.
