LHH is supporting an established investment management firm that is seeking a Finance & Accounting Associate to join its growing finance team. This position offers broad exposure to corporate accounting, fund operations, financial reporting, payroll administration, and cash management across a complex business environment. The role is designed for an accounting professional who enjoys variety in their day-to-day responsibilities and wants to build expertise within the investment and financial services industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules to ensure the accuracy and integrity of monthly financial results.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and other internal reporting deliverables.
- Partner with finance leadership to execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Record accounting transactions, maintain supporting documentation, and assist with general ledger maintenance.
- Monitor cash activity across multiple entities and support treasury-related processes, including tracking receipts and disbursements.
- Administer the employee payroll process, ensuring accurate compensation, tax withholding, and benefit deductions.
- Support various human resources administration functions, including employee record maintenance, payroll setup, and leave tracking.
- Manage vendor payment workflows, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and payment processing.
- Maintain vendor and supplier information while serving as a liaison regarding payment inquiries and account matters.
- Support client billing activities, fee calculations, and collection processes across multiple investment vehicles and business lines.
- Analyze operating expenses and financial activity to identify abnormalities, trends, and budget variances.
- Assist in the administration of private investment entities, including investor contributions, capital movements, fee allocations, and distributions.
- Collaborate with investment, operations, and client service teams to ensure financial information is complete and accurate.
- Coordinate requests from auditors, tax advisors, and external service providers during annual reporting and compliance engagements.
- Contribute to special projects focused on process improvement, reporting enhancements, and operational scalability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline preferred.
- 0- 2+ years of accounting experience; exposure to financial services, investment management, or public accounting is a plus.
- Proficiency with Excel and familiarity with accounting software platforms.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
