Our client, a well-established nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), is seeking an accomplished and mission-driven Chief Financial Officer to join its senior leadership team. This role goes beyond traditional financial oversight, it offers the chance to help steer the financial direction of an organization focused on expanding access to capital, fueling entrepreneurship, and creating jobs in underserved communities.
Our client is committed to closing the capital access gap for small business owners in low-income and historically underinvested communities. Through flexible, mission-driven lending, the organization supports entrepreneurs who are creating jobs, building wealth, and revitalizing their neighborhoods. Its team is united by the belief that financial tools can serve as a genuine engine for equity.
A Note on Confidentiality: At this stage of the search, the identity of the hiring organization is being kept confidential. The organization’s name and additional details will be shared directly with candidates as they advance in the interview process.
Reporting to the President & CEO and serving as a core member of the leadership team, the CFO will drive the organization’s financial strategy, long-term planning, and investor and funder relationships, while directing the audit, finance, loan servicing, and treasury functions. This position carries real influence over strategic decision-making and will directly shape the organization’s ability to expand its lending activity and deepen its community impact.
This opportunity is well suited for a finance leader who is energized by pairing disciplined financial strategy with tangible social impact, and who is comfortable operating in a fast-moving, mission-oriented environment that calls for creativity, flexibility, and strong technical grounding.
