Background

Our client, a well-established nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), is seeking an accomplished and mission-driven Chief Financial Officer to join its senior leadership team. This role goes beyond traditional financial oversight, it offers the chance to help steer the financial direction of an organization focused on expanding access to capital, fueling entrepreneurship, and creating jobs in underserved communities.

Our client is committed to closing the capital access gap for small business owners in low-income and historically underinvested communities. Through flexible, mission-driven lending, the organization supports entrepreneurs who are creating jobs, building wealth, and revitalizing their neighborhoods. Its team is united by the belief that financial tools can serve as a genuine engine for equity.

  • Guide Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL) methodology and portfolio risk oversight
  • Direct treasury operations, cash management, and financial risk policy
  • Oversee the annual external audit, Form 990 filing, and internal controls
  • Build and lead a high-performing Finance and Loan Servicing team grounded in accountability and growth
