Job summary

Johnson Granite, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to inspect stone countertop projects throughout fabrication, acting as the final checkpoint before installation.

You will verify measurements, dimensions, seams, and finish quality against approved drawings and specifications, identifying defects and coordinating corrections with fabrication and project teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically-minded, and proficient in reading CAD/shop drawings and taking precise

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Able to read and understand measurements, drawings, and specifications.
• Able to use a tape measure and other basic measuring tools accurately.
• Basic mathematical skills, including fractions and measurements.
• Able to identify visual defects and inconsistencies in finished stone products.
• Able to communicate quality issues clearly and professionally.
• Able to work independently while also collaborating with fabrication, CAD, project management, and installation teams.
• Able to work in a manufacturing/fabrication environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect completed countertops and components for quality, accuracy, workmanship, and completeness.
• Verify finished pieces against approved CAD/shop drawings and project specifications.
• Check overall dimensions, openings, edges, seams, and other fabricated features.
• Verify cutouts and roundings are fabricated to required specifications.
• Inspect surfaces and edge profiles for quality and finish.
• Check seams for fit, alignment, color/finish consistency.
• Ensure all required pieces are present and properly identified.
• Communicate discrepancies to the appropriate Project Manager, CAD Technician, Fabricator, or Manager.
• Assist in determining corrections or additional work required.
• Maintain quality control records and documentation.
