Job summary

Joby Aviation is seeking a skilled manufacturing engineer to join our vehicle integration manufacturing engineering team in Marina, CA. The role supports assembly and installation of vehicle electrical and mechanical systems, contributing to a fast-paced development environment.

Responsibilities include process development, safety issue resolution, production planning, and collaboration with design engineering to improve manufacturability, with RSU-based compensation as part of the package.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or 8+ years of hands-on experience in a production environment.
• Proficiency in at least one CAD system.
• Strong problem solving and teamwork in cross-functional teams.
• Hands-on electrical or mechanical experience.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing process development and continuous improvement.
• Identify safety issues on the floor and drive timely resolution.
• Assist with production planning, capacity planning, line design, production execution and operations process development.
• Provide day-to-day production support to technicians and leads.
• Support the creation and review of manufacturing work instructions to ensure compliance with design requirements and processes.
• Participate in the review and release of engineering definition, providing manufacturing feedback.
• Support the design and implementation of shop aids and tooling to assist production.
• Assist with disposition of non-conforming parts and root cause investigations.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering during prototype development and first article manufacturing to improve manufacturability.
