Location: Olathe, Kansas
Department: Final Assembly
Hours: Monday through Thursday 6:00am to 3:30pm. Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm. Every other Friday off. Occasional extension of typical hours may be necessary, depending upon business needs.
Reports To: Production Supervisor

Job Summary

The Final Assembly Operator is responsible for performing final assembly operations on electronic and mechanical products according to customer drawings, work instructions, visual aids, and quality requirements. This position uses hand tools, fixtures, and assembly equipment to complete builds, inspect workmanship, document production activity, identify discrepancies, and support product flow while following company policies, safety requirements, and the Quality Management System.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform final assembly operations using established work instructions, customer drawings, visual aids, and production documentation.
  • Assemble electronic and mechanical products using hand tools, fixtures, hardware, labels, adhesives, and related production materials.
  • Inspect assemblies for workmanship, completeness, correct orientation, proper hardware installation, labeling, and conformance to customer requirements.
  • Identify and communicate material shortages, assembly discrepancies, nonconforming product, and process concerns to supervision or appropriate support personnel.
  • Maintain accurate production documentation, traceability records, and required system transactions.
  • Support production flow by organizing parts, following job priorities, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.
  • Take care of company assets and use tools, fixtures, equipment, and materials responsibly.
  • Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company’s Quality Management System.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills Required
  • Ability to perform detailed assembly work accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools, fixtures, and assembly equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ability to interpret work instructions, visual aids, customer drawings, bills of material, and quality requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify workmanship defects, missing components, incorrect hardware, and documentation discrepancies.
  • Ability to communicate assembly issues and production concerns clearly to supervision and support teams.
  • Dependability, teamwork, and commitment to quality workmanship.
Qualifications
  • Previous manufacturing, assembly, or related production experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to interpret basic assembly drawings, visual aids, and production documentation.
  • Understands basic workmanship standards and quality requirements for assembled products.
  • Ability to operate a Windows PC for basic production transactions and documentation as required.
  • Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
  • Excellent attendance is required.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to move, handle, and manipulate assemblies, parts, tools, and materials up to 10 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions, use small hand tools, and complete detailed assembly tasks for extended periods.
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing and final assembly environment where safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements must be followed.
