Filler Operator

Hours: Four ten-hour shifts with the following start times:

Monday at 4:00 PM

Tuesday at 5:00 PM

Thursday at 4:00 PM

Friday at 5:00 PM

Minimum Required Qualifications:

The minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • 1+ years of equivalent experience preferred in the food industry and manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended hours.
  • Must lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, including overhead.
  • Must be able to work in a wet environment.
  • Some exposure to cleaning chemicals.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Must have well-developed organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle and follow through on multiple projects.
  • Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to assist others.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work all assigned work schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and comply with all time and attendance policies.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.

Essential Job Functions:

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Clean, set up, operate, and monitor equipment within a dairy production environment.
  • Complete all required documentation and schedule quality checks.
  • Monitor weights, seals, caps, and general packaging of products.
  • Adjust filler timing as needed.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties.
  • Collect the samples needed for quality assurance testing.
  • Ensure that the proper packaging materials are used for each product.
  • Perform filler and filler line changeovers safely and efficiently.
  • Complete the cleaning checklist once the line has completed the run.
  • Prepare equipment for the next run to include size changes as needed.
  • Communicate with other departments, management, and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may alter production efficiency.
  • Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clean, legible, and accurate format and completed with the required information.
  • Ensure all required information is documented per SOPs.
  • Analyze process and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshooting.
  • Utilizing a continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
  • Follow all required work safety practices, including wearing all required PPE in designated areas and handling chemicals safely.
  • Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs, and food quality related to designated areas.
  • Report any food safety and food quality-related issues to management immediately.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Work overtime as assigned.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
