Location Description

Michael Foods, Inc., located in the Village of West Jefferson, OH, is just minutes from the western suburbs of Columbus and about 20 minutes west of downtown. We are proud to be Michael Foods’ most recent greenfield project, producing high-quality protein shakes serving people worldwide. Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safe work practices, policies, and procedures. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality. Report any conditions that may affect safety or quality to management immediately.
  • Operate, clean, assist in preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment as needed.
  • Follow all SSOPs and SOPs for production and sanitation.
  • Plan and lead changeover activities for fillers and date coding, ensuring proper communication and escalation of issues.
  • Ensure the line operates at maximum efficiency, managing equipment to minimize losses.
  • Meet daily production goals (KPIs) for the Filler area.
  • Maintain communication with Pasteurizer operators and Packaging department for efficient operation.
  • Engage in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Conduct and record quality checks and downtime events promptly using Redzone.
  • Handle cleaning agents properly while wearing PPE.
  • Operate motorized material handling equipment.
  • Alert supervisors of mechanical issues and system abnormalities.
  • Resupply chemicals as needed for sanitation.
  • Manage inventory in the system.
  • Test and monitor chemical titrations for proper cleaning.

  • Participate in safety meetings and trainings.
  • Train new hires as required.
  • Maintain regular attendance and positive attitude.
  • Foster open communication and teamwork.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience operating machinery, handling GMPs, and product specifications, including SPC (weight control).

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Over 2 years’ experience operating high-speed complex filling equipment in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with food manufacturing and GMPs.
  • Maintain a positive and engaging attitude towards colleagues.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Common sense and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
