Summary:

The Filler Operator manages machines involved in packaging functions like filling, marking, and labeling. Responsibilities include starting machines, monitoring for malfunctions, and reporting issues to supervisors. Machines involved include the 30 Valve filler, Quart filler, Nep filler, Bulk filler, 18 Valve plastic filler, and 1/2 Gallon paper filler.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following; other duties may be assigned.

• Operate machines that fill pasteurized products into containers.
• Inspect containers for seals, labels, weights, dates, and valves.
• Check seals and valves for leaks or stains.
• Coordinate with the lab for product change approvals on each machine.
• Monitor milk flow and remove defective containers.
• Report machine malfunctions to the foreman.
• Set up containers and adjust machines for different sizes.
• Record data every 15 minutes regarding weight, date, and labels.
• Follow all safety protocols, including using proper tools, maintaining a safe environment, and reporting hazards.
• Perform basic math calculations as needed.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to sit, handle, reach, and lift 50-60 pounds regularly, and push/pull up to 200 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be provided.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work may involve coolers with variable temperatures, water or dairy liquids, noise levels of 90 decibels, and slippery conditions. Accommodations are available for disabilities.
