Job summary

Universal Health Services in Edinburg, TX seeks a Mental Health Technician - Tier I to provide direct care and advocacy for behavioral health clients, monitor safety, and support treatment plans alongside clinical staff. You will perform a variety of duties on the unit, assist with workflows, and participate in cross-training while maintaining compassionate, respectful, and compliant care.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, CPI certification within 90 days, and current BLS

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Mental Health Technician - Tier I provides direct care, monitoring, assistance, and advocacy for behavioral health clients and support to professional staff by performing a wide variety of duties. Performs other duties as assigned.

4. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.

Education / Licensure

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:

1. High School diploma, GED or Higher Education required.
2. Must obtain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification within 90 days of starting unit orientation (training provided).
3. Current BLS upon hire or acquire within 30 days of employment and current thereafter.
