City of Ann Arbor is seeking a Fill-In School Crossing Guard to help children cross streets safely. The position pays $13.73 per hour and works on an as-needed basis.
Responsibilities include stopping traffic with a STOP sign, reporting unsafe conditions, assisting students, and following crossing regulations. A High School Diploma or GED is required; good communication and independent work are essential.

Nature of Work:
Hold up a hand-held "STOP" sign until all children are safely across the street. Report any unsafe observations, incidents or accidents involving students to school authorities. Record and report the license numbers of vehicles that disregard the Crossing Guard while in the crosswalk. Assist students that are lost, injured, or need assistance. Abide by all guidelines and regulations governing student crossing.

Incumbent must be able to walk for an extended period primarily in an outside environment, including exposure to inclement weather conditions.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
The Fill-In School Crossing Guard position pays $13.73 per hour and works on an as-needed basis. Fill-in School Crossing Guards are paid for the shifts they cover. Crossing Guards earn one sick day per month and receive four paid holidays and are paid bi-weekly.
