Job summary

Independent School District 196 is seeking a part-time Crossing Guard to supervise and assist students in crossing streets safely during school hours. You will work from 6:30-8:30 a.m. and 2:10-4:10 p.m., Monday to Friday, aligning with school days.

A high school diploma or GED is required, alongside the ability to stand and walk for extended periods. This role is perfect for those who enjoy working with children in a diverse school environment.

Compensation is between $20.15 and $21.82 per hour based on the contractual agreement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Standing and walking up to 3 hours at a time.
• Exposure to elements, road dust, occasional fuel and exhaust fumes.
• Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and assists students in crossing streets.
• Uses and maintains provided safety equipment.
• Establishes and maintains good relations with students.
• Attends required training classes and workshops.
