Job summary

Texas A&M University-Kingsville is seeking a Research Technician I to support the South Texas Lion Project in the SPEC Lab and Patton Center for Deer Research. The role involves fieldwork on ranches across Maverick, Dimmit, and Webb Counties, with housing provided during the term.

Qualifications

• Strong fieldwork and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Assist capture team with trapping and collaring under supervision.
• Maintain camera traps for scouting new ranches and lion presence.
• Scout and interpret mountain lion sign (tracks, scrapes, scats).
• Track collared mountain lions using telemetry and GPS clusters.
• Collect and organize mountain lion scat and other samples.
