Job summary

Webb County in Texas is seeking a Welding Technician to perform welding tasks in support of maintenance and repair of county vehicles, equipment, bridges, cattle guards, and fences.

You will fabricate parts, repair gates, tarps, and playground equipment, maintain shop areas and inventories, and respond to field breakdowns with timely repairs. A high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience are required; welding certification is preferred; valid Texas driver’s license essential.

Qualifications

• Welding certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding tasks for county vehicles and equipment.
• Perform metal fabrication and related repairs.
• Repair cattle guards, fence gates, and playground equipment.
• Repair truck tarps.
• Maintain shop equipment and inventories.
• Respond to field breakdowns with field repairs.
• Prepare materials and labor estimates for assigned repairs and orders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
