Job summary

Patterson Professional Services, an Inframark company, seeks a Water Meter Technician to support reliable water service. The field-based role involves reading residential and commercial meters, recording usage, and identifying leaks or issues while working outdoors.

You'll travel assigned routes, operate handheld devices, and perform basic field tasks. Previous meter-reading experience isn’t required, and overtime or weekends may be needed, with travel occasionally required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Previous meter-reading or outdoor field-work experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends.
• Ability to travel overnight as needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow routes to read and record residential and commercial water meters.
• Use handheld devices or mobile apps to record data.
• Identify unusual readings, leaks, damaged meters, tampering, and service issues.
• Perform meter rereads and basic field tasks as needed.
• Safely operate a company vehicle on routes.
• Adhere to safety procedures while outdoors.
