Job summary

RSI is seeking an Operations Engineer for the Fernald, OH area to oversee wastewater treatment systems, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize site operations. The role emphasizes hands-on field assessments and mechanical/controls support, with 50% field time and 10% travel.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and up to 5 years of relevant experience, with a starting salary range of $65,000 to $75,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, or related field.
• 0-5 years of relevant experience in industrial maintenance, wastewater treatment, or field engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular field inspections and technical assessments of site infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain operational procedures.
• Collect, manage and report operational data.
• Troubleshoot and oversee repairs for mechanical components such as HVAC systems, pumps, motors, piping, valves, and VFDs.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and support the maintenance of PLCs and SCADA control logic.
• Participate in project design reviews from mechanical and control perspectives.
• Oversee subcontractors and vendors.
