Job summary

IBT Industrial Solutions in Merriam, KS seeks a Traveling Vibration Analyst / Maintenance Technician to perform predictive maintenance field projects, test rotating equipment, conduct laser alignment and dynamic balancing, and report findings to customers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; 5 years’ experience preferred.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• Able to travel overnight 20% of the time.
• Work environment includes indoor/outdoor conditions (heat/cold, wet/dry).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Capable of using precision measuring devices (micrometers/calipers).
• Able to wear PPE, including respirator as necessary.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, planning, teamwork, and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Safely collect, analyze, and report on plant equipment health using vibration analysis.
• Diagnose imbalance, misalignment, looseness, worn components, and bearing faults.
• Repair critical equipment with accuracy to reduce downtime.
• Oversee customer-site projects from start to finish and document findings.
• Develop and maintain customer relationships based on trust and reliability.
• Travel up to 20% overnight to customer sites.
• Prepare reports for customers after each project.
• Possess customer-first attitude and work with diverse teams.
