Job summary

IBT Industrial Solutions is seeking a Field Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance and predictive services on rotating equipment, conveyors, and lubrication units at our Merriam, KS location.

The role requires travel within four hours of Kansas City, on‑call duties, overtime, weekends, and holidays. You will diagnose, repair, and report findings, build strong customer relationships, and contribute to a robust training program.

Qualifications

• Must possess a customer-first focus and ability to work with all levels
• Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude while completing tasks
• Willingness to work on-call/overtime duties
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Industrial maintenance skills including bearing installation and rigging
• General installation techniques for various mechanical components
• Shaft and sheave alignment capabilities
• Motivated with a strong work ethic
• Ability to prepare reports for customers after each project
• Compliance with OSHA safety regulations
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Ability to travel to job sites, including outside KC area
• Experience with Microsoft Office or Google apps is a plus

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faulty bearings, belts, sheaves, couplings, and other components on rotating equipment
• Safely replace components using proper tools and methods
• Diagnose and repair critical plant equipment to minimize downtime
• Convey findings with confidence and practical solutions
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships based on trust
• Assist Field Vibration Analysts with collecting route data at plants
• Work overtime as required and be available for on‑call calls
• Service 24/7 customers and respond to emergencies
• Work solo or in small teams to complete jobs
• Travel within 4 hours of Kansas City metro; some overnight stays
• Perform other duties as assigned
