Job summary

Sigma Technologies is seeking a Utility Field Technician to collect data and document overhead power-distribution infrastructure across Northern Indiana and a portion of Southwestern Michigan. The role is field-based, requiring outdoor work in various conditions and independent work habits.

Ideal candidates will have strong map-reading skills, attention to detail, and the ability to use mobile devices and data-collection apps.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate field documentation.
• Comfort with reading maps, using mobile devices, and data-collection apps.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys of overhead power-distribution facilities.
• Locate, inspect, photograph, measure, and document poles, lines, transformers, and related infrastructure.
• Record conditions, attachments, clearances, and field notes.
• Use maps, GIS-based apps, and data-collection tools to locate facilities and document information.
• Upload photos, measurements, and project data accurately.
• Plan daily routes and manage field assignments across the designated area.
• Communicate with project teams regarding field conditions and access concerns.
• Follow safety requirements and other duties as assigned.
