Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess diploma or equivalent; mechanical aptitude; good physical condition; and possession of or the ability to obtain an Ohio Commercial Driver's License Class A with both tanker and air brake endorsements.
• Requires passage of a pre-employment physical and respiratory examination, including drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Operates various vehicles for hauling construction or maintenance equipment and materials, hauling debris, water, and spreading gravel.
• Operates dump trucks to plow snow or spread salt or sand; uses cab controls to raise/lower blade or spreaders.
• Operates pothole patching machines and street flusher.
• Performs preventive maintenance on assigned vehicles and reports malfunctions.
• Performs manual street and utility maintenance tasks.
• Assists with installation, repair, and maintenance of water mains, lines, and residential services; drives and stocks service trucks; operates hand and power tools.
• Assists in sewer line maintenance, operating sewer equipment.
• Performs cleaning of manholes, catch basins, culverts, ditches, and drains.
• All other job related duties as assigned.
