GridHawk LLC, The Premier Provider for Utility Services, seeks a Utility Watch and Protect Technician to oversee contractor digging near gas facilities and monitor excavations for safety. You will perform field audits to verify safe utility practices and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities include verifying locations, watching client facilities, and coordinating with excavators. The role requires a year of locating experience and a valid driver’s license; standard

Qualifications

• One year of underground utility locating experience.
• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Background check with no violations within the last 5 years.
• DOT drug test required and passed.

Responsibilities

• Compare real‑world conditions to record documentation to identify errors and omissions.
• Verify location of all client facilities within specified dig extents.
• Watch and protect client facilities within a given area as directed by the client.
• Understand contractor’s methods for subsurface installations.
• Monitor and provide surveillance of critical infrastructure during known or upcoming excavations.
• Contact excavators and schedule monitoring with them.
• Locate and mark underground facilities using industry tools, standards, and methods.
• Perform ticket audits to ensure locators accurately identify facilities and follow marking procedures.
