Job summary

NORTHERN LIGHTS LOCATING AND INSPECTION, INC in Houston, TX, seeks a Utility Locator to locate underground utilities under 811 tickets, using maps, as-built drawings and GIS data. You will mark locations with flags or paint, document work thoroughly, and participate in on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• 2 years locator experience required.
• Know best locate practices, procedures and 811 law.
• Read and interpret utility maps and as-built drawings.
• Must have valid Driver’s License and the ability to obtain a DOT physical certification.
• Maintain equipment and vehicle, work in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground utilities for clients and property owners based on 811 tickets.
• Use utility maps, as-built drawings, GIS data, and locating equipment.
• Mark locations with flags and/or paint; document work and issues.
• Take photos and prepare reports for each locate ticket.
• Be available for on-call rotation and travel as required.
