Job summary

Line Quest, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Locator to join our field team in the Evergreen, CO area. The Locate Technician will identify and mark underground utilities to support safe excavation and construction activities, often working outdoors in varying weather.

You will interpret maps and blueprints, coordinate with contractors and utility companies, and maintain accurate locating records while adhering to safety guidelines and using required PPE.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
• Experience in utility locating or construction preferred.
• Familiarity with underground utility systems and locating equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark underground utilities such as gas, water, electric, and telecommunications lines using specialized equipment.
• Interpret maps, blueprints, and technical drawings to identify utility locations.
• Communicate effectively with contractors, utility companies, and other stakeholders to coordinate locating activities.
• Maintain accurate records of located utilities and provide detailed reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all locating activities.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of locating equipment.
• Respond promptly to locate requests and complete assignments within designated timeframes.
