Job summary

OSP Inspectors Inc is seeking a Utility Location Technician in Mobile, Alabama to safeguard underground infrastructure by locating and marking utilities before excavation. This role involves reading utility maps, operating EM equipment, documenting locations, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Candidates should have utility locating experience, proficiency with EM locating, and the physical ability to work outdoors and lift 50 lbs. This is a full-time subcontractor position with provided equipment but requires a personal vehicle.

Qualifications

• 1+ year utility locating experience preferred; SUE/Pre-design locating exposure a plus.
• Ability to use mobile field apps for ticketing, photos, and GIS notes.
• Physical ability to walk and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark underground utilities prior to excavation.
• Operate EM locating equipment to mark utilities accurately.
• Create documentation for each locate; manage 811 tickets.
• Perform safe manhole entry using assigned equipment.
• Maintain professional communication with customers onsite.

Skills

Utility locating experience
