Job summary

ARKUPS is seeking a Damage Prevention Specialist to identify and mark subsurface utilities, working independently in the field with company support and equipment. You will interact with contractors, coworkers, and the public to promote safety and prevent damage during excavation activities.

The role requires reading maps and utility records, interpreting electronic detection data, and accurately marking utilities by color codes. Authorized US work status and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Ability to read and interpret maps, utility records and electronic prints.
• Ability to distinguish colors accurately to mark utilities according to industry-standard color codes.
• Ability to interpret signals and data from electronic detection equipment to locate underground utilities.

Responsibilities

• Identify and mark the location of partner subsurface utilities to prevent damage during excavation.
• Work independently in the field with required tools and equipment.
• Interact with contractors, co-workers and the public to maintain relationships and promote safety.
• Promote Arkansas 811 law to prevent damage and ensure public safety.
