Job summary

Salt Lake City School District is seeking a part-time Bus Driver – Field Trip to transport students and athletes on field trips and regular routes in Salt Lake City, Utah. The role requires a 0.5 FTE schedule (20 hours per week) with a starting wage of $18,059 and potential benefits eligibility.

Responsibilities include safe driving, student assistance, pre/post trip inspections, and reporting. CDL within 60 days is required; training is provided by the district.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and evidence of insurability.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• CDL within 60 days of hire; district will provide training.
• Work with limited supervision.
• Effective communication with diverse groups while maintaining confidentiality.
• Able to lift up to 125 pounds.
• English language literacy and comprehension.

Responsibilities

• Drive school bus to transport passengers on scheduled routes and field trips.
• Assist students with loading/unloading, including wheelchairs and special needs.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of the vehicle.
• Supervise students during transit and reinforce bus safety rules.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and reports.
• Respond to inquiries and adapt to changing priorities.
• Maintain regular attendance and cooperate with team members.
