Job summary

Syngenta Seeds Field Crops is seeking a Trialing Specialist Technician to support Evanston, IL yield trials with precision data collection. The role involves planting, phenotyping, and harvesting at a research scale, using advanced equipment and ensuring strict safety practices.

The position is hybrid, based near Evansville, IL, and supports the Trialing Manager to deliver high-quality data for corn, soybean, and wheat trials during the growing season.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in agriculture related discipline or relevant experience.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving history.
• Able to work in extreme temperatures in field/greenhouse; lift up to 50 lbs.
• Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Experience operating agricultural machinery or research equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plant, maintain, and harvest research-level crop trial plots.
• Operate and maintain field equipment and sensors (planters, drones, phenotyping gear).
• Follow safety and stewardship policies and complete required training.
• Support field layout, planting, phenotyping, and data collection.
• Communicate project status and data quality to team and managers.
