Advance Services Inc. in Bakersfield, CA is hiring a Foundation Seed Assistant to support field trial operations and coordinate daily tasks for a team of temporary labor.

You will give clear directions to ensure safety and efficiency, monitor plant conditions, and report trial status to breeders and the Station Manager.

This hands-on role requires 1–3 years of farm experience, ability to lift 50 lbs, and readiness to work in field, greenhouse and harsh conditions.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience on a research farm.
• Ability to train and work with lab chemicals and apply agro-chemicals.
• Must lift up to 50 pounds and work in hot field conditions.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate daily assignments for a crew of labor contract workers.
• Provide direction and instructions to temporary workers to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
• Monitor plant conditions, growth stages, and diseases in field trials.
• Report trial status to breeders and/or the Station Manager.
• Take action as needed based on field conditions and direction provided.
• Perform horticultural tasks including Field preparation, Irrigation scheduling, Fertilization, Cage construction, Pesticide/herbicide/fungicide applications.
