Job summary

Advance Services Inc. in Bakersfield, CA is hiring a Foundation Seed Assistant to support field trial operations and coordinate daily tasks for a team of temporary labor.

You will give clear directions to ensure safety and efficiency, monitor plant conditions, and report trial status to breeders and the Station Manager.

This hands-on role requires 1–3 years of farm experience, ability to lift 50 lbs, and readiness to work in field, greenhouse and harsh conditions.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience on a research farm.
• Ability to train and work with lab chemicals and apply agro-chemicals.
• Must lift up to 50 pounds and work in hot field conditions.

Foundation Seed Assistant We are hiring for a Foundation Seed Assistant who can support field trial operations and helps coordinate daily work assignments for a team of temporary labor contract workers. This role includes giving clear instructions to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently, and supporting day-to-day horticultural operations.

This position is in the area of Bakersfield, CA.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily assignments for a crew of labor contract workers
• Provide direction and instructions to temporary workers to complete tasks safely and efficiently
• Monitor plant conditions, growth stages, and diseases in field trials
• Report trial status to breeders and/or the Station Manager
• Take action as needed based on field conditions and direction provided
• Perform horticultural tasks including (but not limited to): Field preparation Irrigation scheduling Fertilization Cage construction Pesticide / fungicide / herbicide applications

Requirements

• HS or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience research farm experience.
• Ability to train and work with lab chemicals and apply agro-chemicals.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work in office, open field, cages and green house work with temps. close to 100 degrees.

Pay: $20-$25/hr Schedule: 7am-3:30pm ( Monday - Fridays )
