Job summary

Kleinfelder is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector in Maryland to support on-site highway construction inspections, tests, and documentation. You will read plans, verify contractor work, and ensure compliance with specifications across multiple site locations including Montgomery and Prince George’s counties.

Applicants should have construction industry experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions; valid driver’s license and safety

Qualifications

• Experience in transportation construction industry including paving/asphalt, surveying, traffic signals and road/bridge construction.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; civil engineering/related training preferred.
• Must read, write and speak English fluently; reliable and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Inspect highway construction materials on-site and document compliance with specifications.
• Oversee various phases of contractor work to ensure quality and safety standards.
• Read and interpret construction plans for structures, bridges, and roadways.
• Perform tests for specification compliance and document pay quantities.
• Occasionally report to project sites to attend meetings and coordinate tasks.
