Job summary

JMT's Virginia Construction Management Team is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector to apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes. The role involves fieldwork and compliance oversight across projects.

Qualified applicants typically have 1–4 years of roadway inspection experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver's license;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience).
• 1–4 years of roadway construction inspection experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations.
• Performs routine tests on concrete, soils and other materials.
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes.
• Makes field notes and computations.
• Gathers and maintains record documents.
