Job description

Field Training Manager, Amazon Fresh Stores

We are looking for an experienced Field Training Manager who can bring Amazon’s customer obsession to life in a grocery retail environment. You will be accountable for empowering salaried managers and hourly associates by delivering comprehensive training and development that drives operational excellence, fosters a culture of growth, and ensures the continued success of the Amazon Fresh network. You will play a vital role in maintaining a vibrant team culture based on customer obsession, trust, respect, continuous learning, safety, and fun.

Field Training Managers are process-driven, comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity, detail-oriented and able to think outside the box. Field Training Managers demonstrate a strong work ethic, excellent ownership, the ability to meet deadlines, a willingness to learn new things, and a commitment to the customer and employee experience.

You will travel extensively in the geos you support and must be readily available to quickly respond to unplanned issues that affect training operations. This role works in-stores 5-days a week. On average overnight travel is expected to be 25%. During peaks, travel could increase to 75% -100%.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Serve as a multi-threaded leader for training and development across the Amazon Fresh network of stores. Maintain strong relationships with all key stakeholders.
  2. Be an active and productive partner/liaison to store teams.
  3. Consult on learning strategies and effectiveness and gather feedback from the field to improve Learning & Development programs.
  4. Assess employees’ needs for training and further development.
  5. Influence leaders and stakeholders; demonstrate effective consulting and coaching skills, with an ability to influence in all directions and at all levels.
  6. Engage multiple stakeholders and drive alignment and action towards goals.
  7. Deliver results with little supervision in a dynamic and often ambiguous environment.
  8. Create and maintain a culture of engagement by routinely listening to feedback from leaders, associates, and customers.
  9. Maintain expertise in role by staying current on tools, process, and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
  1. 3+ years of program or project management experience
  2. 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
  3. Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  4. Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
  5. Must have at least 3 years professional work experience in learning and development
  6. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field
  7. Demonstrated ability to communicate information clearly and facilitate learning for diverse audiences
  8. Ability to identify the training needs of an organization and recognize where changes and improvements can be made.
  9. Experience collaborating with staff, trainees, subject matter experts, and the organization’s leaders in person and through teams
  10. At least 3 years physical retail experience
  11. 75% - 100% travel depending on business needs
  12. 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
  13. 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
  14. Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  15. Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
  16. Master’s degree in training and development, human resources management, organizational development, or business administration preferred
  17. Experience developing, designing, or creating new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products, including artistic contributions.
  18. Ability to conceptualize multiple unorthodox or out of the box ideas about a given topic or situation, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
